Tribulations
It was Friday.
“Today is such a Tuesday,”
he whispered as they grinned at each other.
His smile didn’t quite reach his enigmatic blue eyes
and they stared out at her,
fringed with feathery walnut lashes.
She nodded,
but she couldn’t quite remember
what she was agreeing to.
A car roared by next to them,
sending leaves into orbit. She turned and asked,
“Who are you, again?”
But the question was lost
in the incandescent sunshine.
