Elaine
Awake, she's awake, it's time again,
She gets up to start her routine and then,
She sighs as another breath escapes.
Smile, she smiles, she plasters a fake smile,
She is waiting for something remotely worthwhile,
But she knows it is not possible.
Work, she works, until she's acquired,
Her dream, but can't you see she's tired,
Is this the dream she expected?
Thin, she's thin, she wants to be gorgeous,
So she decides to pretend, she decides she forges
To be something that isn't her.
Promised, she promised to be so perfect,
She tells herself that it'll all be worth it,
She can't find herself anymore.
