In Heart
Staring out of a picture window,
I feel trapped.
Placed on an undesired topographic point
on a stale map.
Yet, it appears to me,
that those on the outside
are just yearning to enter.
What is not familiar
is what is strived for.
The unexplored places
that are buried within our subconscious,
which are thought to be found
by a simple change of scenery,
truly require more than traveling.
We displace ourselves time after time,
Searching for a solution from others,
but never from our hearts.
Yet, this is what makes us people, and
this is what makes our hearts grow.
