The Beat Which Unites
Clap, snap, crackle pop,
Rattle tattle be-bop.
I was hittin’ a drum to a beat beat beat,
when I overheard a man a’ hummin’ in the street.
The style was wild and the wind danced along
And the trees clapped there leaves
And the dogs barked the song.
Clap, snap, crackle pop,
Rattle tattle be-bop.
And a beggar joined in a’ clinkin his coins,
The pennies all a’ ringin and a hummin’ bird a’ singin’,
And the churches bells joined in
and the chorus did begin.
Us all making sound in unison.
Clap, snap, crackle pop,
Rattle tattle be-bop.
The world joined us in our little prayer,
And we all worked together just a’ tryin’ to get there.
We sang for tolerance and for love,
Peace and a future in the stars above.
All together with the common goal
Mixed collectively in one giant bowl.
Clap, snap, crackle pop,
Rattle tattle be-bop.
Till the music unites us,
We’ll never stop.
