Passing On
The old man stared at his ceiling.
Where was his family, friends siblings, or somebody who cared?
He Listened to the rythmic
ticking of his jewel encrusted alarm clock when it all started clicking.
All of those dinners for one
and now there was nobody at his side.
All those longs nightsw at the office, what good is all the extra money now?
All those new cars and electronics,
that he can no longer use.
If he had spent less time woorying about money he could have met his grandkids.
The room started to spin.
his left arm went numb:his heart started to ache
filled with remorse he took one last breath
and passed on to the otherside--gone.
