Greed
The sky is set ablaze with regret
As ashes cover a fading silhouette
Grinning in the midst of the destruction
The city's greed the creature's induction
It slinks from street to burning street
The cries from the mournful he did eat
Remorseful and woeful in their ending
Their problems clear in doom impending
Ash rains like snow's soft touch
As the city burns in the creature's clutch
Revealed is it's name in the endless flames
Greed, it is, know by many other names

Washington Irving once said “There is sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They are messengers of overwhelming grief and of unspeakable love.”
