“Sure, I can talk like you, but I choose not to, It's like an art, you know? Picasso had to prove to the world he could paint the right way, before he goes putting both eyes on the side of a face... See if you paint wrong because that's the best you can do, you just a chump. But you do it because you want to? Then you're an artist...You can take that to the grave and dig it up when you need it.”
― Neal Shusterman, Unwind

Though her eyes are dry
Her heart is weeping.
Wrapped up in sorrows,
And yours for keeping

But she is strong,
Stronger then those who oppress her
And she’s waited too long
To recall what she’s waiting for

Her mind shows victory
While her heart shows defeat
Abandoned in misery
Slated in the sinner’s seat

But her eyes still shine
And her fallen flag still flies
Caught in a gale of happiness
That is immune to the world’s trivialities

Nobody notices when her colors change
But the sun does,
It shines brighter.
And the doves, they sing louder.

For the ones who are lost
In all they believe in
Hiding in never-ending spools of barren love

For those who cry to feel better,
And for those who cry to feel something.
For those who laugh genuinely
And for those who let the world pass by
For the ones who live
And those who died.

We salute you
In every strangled breath we take.

We are human
Not because we are living
But for how slowly we die;
A little each day
For the rest of our lives,
Looping on and on
Like a sickly beautiful love song.
