I Lost Footing
One wrong step and I lost my balance,
ending up with scars.
And all the things I could’ve said are now buried beneath the stars.
You wanted to forgive and forget the sins that marked my lips.
But your head was flooded with thoughts,
Of the time where someone else held me by the hips.
Giving me one last kiss as the first we shared,
You let my hand go and walked out
With one last thought on your mind
I once cared.
Now I just seem to wish it had all been your mistake.
But I would just be lying to myself.
I just want my heart to mend and to stop the ache.
