Weathered Veins
This is absolutely where I belong
In a green-tinted metal frame
Telling them where to put their hopes
Another sin in Pandora’s box
Another limb bound to the bricks
North of understanding
East of hope
South of freedom
West of heaven
Only ask me directions
I do not know destinations
I stare at their shadows from where I perch
How wonderful two people look together
Rooftops are my company
Scattered with wishes on dandelion snowstorms
I’m just waiting for that hurricane
To toss me around like I’m not iron-hearted
And blow the shadows into my own skin
Let someone else try to breathe with these
Weathered Veins
