Outside My Window
Outside my Window
Green grass grows
And everyone knows
Sure as stars in the sky,
That they’ll get by
Outside my window
The sun shines bright
And people are right
When they assuredly say
It’s a wonderful day
Outside my window
The trees stretch tall
And like the people, fall
In line with each other
Every sister, every brother
Outside my window
Is a world of joy and butterflies
Of mendacity and hopeful lies
That draw us in like bait
Until it is too late
