Outside my Window
Green grass grows
And everyone knows
Sure as stars in the sky,
That they’ll get by

Outside my window
The sun shines bright
And people are right
When they assuredly say
It’s a wonderful day

Outside my window
The trees stretch tall
And like the people, fall
In line with each other
Every sister, every brother

Outside my window
Is a world of joy and butterflies
Of mendacity and hopeful lies
That draw us in like bait
Until it is too late

Anti-conformist and totally disillusioned...I'm a regular Highbrow! Seriously though, this is life in a seemingly perfect suburban town. This is MY life. It hides all the horrible things in the world and makes you feel like, since you have literally everything going for you. you ought to be a lot better than you are. I'm grateful, of course, but horribly curious about what's outside of other people's windows.
