Even The Left Over Crumbs Are Worth Something
She got lost
Early Tuesday morn
She got so lost
Early Tuesday morn
Walking down the street with one sock
And baby girl’s shoes were worn
She ain’t have nothin’
Not a nickel in ha pocket
I mean she ain’t have nothin’!
Not even a nickel in ha pocket
The day had robbed her clean
From everything that Po child had
Couldn’t buy a candy bar, or a soda pop
Ol’ gal was hungry. Yes she was
But couldn’t even buy a candy bar, or a soda pop
And gal was hungry, boy yes she was
Ain’t have much but still shared with the hobo on the street
Just to make it into that sweet place above.
