Dead Girl
She steps on the pavement, into the rain
Shards of glass that cause such pain
Albums of memories out of the dark
 Injuries leaving no visible marks

She falls to the earth, out of her mind
Gangly roots with which she’s intertwined
Bridges of hope always falling apart
Rejection that’s bringing her back to the start

She turns to the side, reveals her face
 Intricate patterns like delicate lace
 Fallen happiness driven away
Long she is lost for another dead day
