Ode to Anne Frank

A girl who only wanted her freedom
Dreamed of being a journalist or writer
Never discouraged or dumb
But optimistic, who made everything brighter
Still believed people were truly good at heart
Survived two years in hiding
From the outside world kept apart
She maintained her mind at ease by writing
Lost everything she cared about
Yet never became bitter
Couldn't jump or shout
She wished to be outside and see the birds twitter
Enriched her mind with Algebra and History
Even though her happy school days were gone forever
Whether she missed them was no mystery
Then came Peter who gave her life more flavor
She was full of bliss
Story after story she wrote everyday
Then the first kiss
It took her breath away
She didn't live for so long
But experienced a horrid situation
Anne was brave and strong
In the end, she moved an entire nation

This was an ode that I had to create in school after reading Anne Frank's ode to her pen in her diary.
