Glasses
So you put on your glasses
And see everything.
From
A
Different
Perspective.
The light is brighter.
The dark is bolder.
And you see everything
In all new colors.
Everything just looks better.
Brighter.
Prettier.
Right.
But then
You look in the mirror
And see all minor
Imperfections…
About 100 times worst
Than you’ve ever seen them before.
Blemishes,
Scars,
Marks,
All were sort of fuzzy
When you couldn’t see.
Now you see
What everybody else sees
When they look
At.
You.
And you can’t do anything
About it.
You’re behind glass.
You see everything
But you’re not a part of it anymore.
You’re trapped.
So you take off your glasses.
Why see everything
How everybody else sees it?
I’d rather be blind.
