Eyes betray inner thoughts
Buried deep within.
You admit not
To yourself.
But I see it in your eyes.
Pain locked away.
Hurt never spoken of.
Nightmares and tears with
No comfort provided.
Dying dreams.
Normalcy suffocating.
You’ve locked it away.
And wear a smile
To extremes.
But, when I look into your eyes,
I am the first who truly sees.
And Pandora’s box
Opens.
I looked into your eyes,
And I saw not the color,
Or the contact lenses,
But the hidden soul.
