The World Is Empty
A startling campfire blazes in the dark
This campfire is the only truth that one has ever known
The world is empty
Emotionally drained
All are confined within the walls of a cave
Before one’s eyes a shadow show
When day and night passes this show is the only form of recreation
The world is empty
A superficial maze
All are confined within the walls of a cave
Shadows are the loveliest form of beauty that one has ever seen
The shadows are all that one fancies as they constantly perplex one’s perception
The world is empty
A glamorous mirage is brave
All are confined within the walls of a cave
This is called The Allegory of the Cave
Yet I wonder why this story is just a parable
To me, it sounds like an ordinary cliché
In our world
We continue to be mesmerized by the sight of a rose
People refuse to see the demonic nature in the thorns of this flower
Our world is empty, our thoughts control us
We are the puppets of the ventriloquist within us
We can’t escape from beauty
We are all bound to love
We thirst for friendship
But all these things are an illusion in our minds
Which leads me to wonder
If we are all prisoners living within the walls of a cave
