“You see I kept asking myself then: why am I so stupid that if others are stupid—and I know they are—yet I won't be wiser?”
― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Crime and Punishment

Once, long ago, a shadow grieved for a star.
For the way that it twinkled, its light glimmering far.
The shadow sighed long, looking at the dim light
That had shined so brightly, it seemed just last night.
But now it was gone, gone out, gone for good,
Leaving a shadow to linger, wishing it could
Fly out into sky to touch its sweet star
But a shadow’s dear dream can go only so far.
