“You see I kept asking myself then: why am I so stupid that if others are stupid—and I know they are—yet I won't be wiser?”
― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Crime and Punishment

See it twirl in the wind, teasing the light -
A shimmer, a twinkle, a sparkling fright –
It sways in the breeze, its mind mellow and dim
In the soft ease of springtime, it's let go of its grim
To open my eyes and behold with a gasp,
Fields full of yellow, soothing my rasp
Filling with sunshine, making warm what was cool
And bringing sweet tears to my once frozen pool.
I watch with awe as it raises the haze
God, I wish they would stay, these sweet buttercup days.
