The Unknown
I live in a closed minded world
Where touch, taste, sight, smell, sound
They are the only things that are real
These things that are earth bound.
People shun the unknown
The things they cannot see
Ghosts, ghouls, monsters
All of those are real to me.
You may think I’m unstable
You may think I’m a freak
Listen to what I have to say
Before you decide to speak.
There are things in this world
That not everyone can see
But just because you don’t see it
Does that mean it cannot be?
What you define as real
May be different to me
Maybe the things I see in this world
Are not what I call reality.
Ghosts are wanderers
Souls without a home
Done with their earthly bonds
Now free to roam.
Ghouls are those people we see
Who no longer care at all
Shadows of their former selves
Who are now just waiting to fall.
And those people who do horrible things
Are the monsters that are all around
They’re people we fear to talk about
For fear we’d never be found.
The unknown scares people
But it fascinates me
Because from what I've seen
The scariest thing is reality.
