Beyond the Grave

Growing up without a dad,
kids are usually prone,
but having him gone in a second,
for me...is highly unknown.
Not having a man to call
"daddy or dad"
can change any child's mood
from happy to sad.

Always having that thought
of why he had to go,
leaving three children behind,
before the wind could blow.

Kissing us goodnight

The author's comments:
This piece was inspired by my late father Julian. He was slain 11 years ago after a night out with his friends. It was very hard for me to choose a piece from my other work, but, this is just one page in my book that I just can't seem to turn. For my readers, I just hope that this piece inspires you to express how you feel about anything on your mind. I hope you have enjoyed this
