The War

It's like a war with words as weapons.
No one ever wins, so tell me what's the point?
Must we continue to attack,
until we are bruised and battered?
It becomes a test of endurance.
Who will wave the white flag first?
Can we not surrender and call it a truce?
Silent declarations of victory,
prevent stepping up to claim the title "loser".
And so the war continues.
