my weird little pet!

my pet donkey is grey,
and he always brays,
he does not catch his own prey ,
but snatches his food from my tray!
he and i set out this may,
to catch a glimpse of the colorful bay,
he was so excited that day,
we say a colourful ray,
we wanted to reach it but there was no way!
no matter people stare at my dear pet,
i think no one can be so close and good i bet!
