Casted Love
For Alex Redd
Driven to the hospital,
Pain writhing in my arm,
Unaware of my current surroundings.
Pushed through the crowded halls on a gurney,
Into each of the bland rooms,
Strangers watching my every move.
Finally I felt:
the needle,
The pulse through my physique,
My body slowing down,
Calming me
till I felt
nothing.
When back conscience,
I was greeted by loved ones,
Happy sincere faces,
Having sympathy for me.
Then the moment when the cast went on,
The first sharpie mark,
The comments and signatures,
It wasn't painful anymore,
I was casted with love.
