When Darkness Shuts Its Mouth
In desperate sorrow my heart cries out
A wretched call for night to end.
The hostilities a vast display of my ruin,
My soul twists in yearn of forgiveness.
A sacred whisper to be heard
When darkness shuts its mouth.
I lie in anxious wait
For the sound of hope's return,
Groping for even a drizzle
In this thirsty barren heart.
The roots of life seem ever shallow,
A wind threatens the growing flame.
A desire for peace overwhelming
Every waking thought;
My mind is bent on finding my King,
In whose beautiful hands
Lay perfect rest
No longer the fragile destiny
Of my circumstances.
