A Sturdy Friend
Preparing for the grandest meal of all,
The table cloth with plates is weighted down.
With steaming pots of food both big and small,
Your spirits will be lifted if you're down.
Supported well by sturdy legs it stands.
The table's made of wood, and firmly built.
Twas made from time and work by skillfull hands,
And nowhere will you find it lean or tilt.
Your table sees it all, throughout the years.
It's stood through every meal;to food, the host.
It's heard your laughs and screams, and felt your tears.
As far as past events, it's seen the most.
No matter what shall lie around the bend,
Your table will remain your "bestest" friend.
