An Ode to You
Your heart is an open book
In a language only I can read
Silly phrases said and vibrant looks
Given only to me, with a kiss on the head
 Broken letters thrown together
Forming pieces of uncertainty between you and me
An intimate meaning derived even when nothing was said
Belittling’s thrown at each other playfully but a deeper meaning hidden behind whether,
It means love or hatred is something we have yet to define- We,
Were perfect misfits living in a deranged world, conquered by demons that we wish to wed.

Demons were your problem, pretty little demons mistook
Your kindness for an invitation to bed
You were a smooth criminal, a crook
Breathing words that had no right to be said
You wrote words, uttered words, such beautiful lies altogether-
They made me melt, I was blinded unable to see
You caught me with your syllables of gold written in grey lead
And stunned me with the simple letters you left unsaid that day in the rainy weather
But my mind told me you weren’t real, though my heart didn’t agree
Just as curve balls were becoming common, I knew our love was dead.

You cracked my emotions, broke into my lockbox, now I was bubbling over like a brook
You seemed to be the robber, taking all my love, the thought of greed in your head
I was lonely and needed someone just to hold me at night, no strings attached to a hook
Just free love, a one night stand, an invitation to hurt me, just go ahead
You took a hold of the reins and took me on a long hard ride through rainy weather
My heart got soaked, wrung out and dragged again into the dead sea
The place where hearts go when they need to bleed love and trust me mine bled
Once perfect lips now tasted of worn out leather
Cracked and broken, much like my concrete heart, of which you no longer held the key
Funny how life flows, the moon dies for the morning and the morning dies for the night that beholds only dread.
