We were wed on a warm, starry summer’s night;
Like the stars, you shined so bright.
We danced the tango under the sky,
This sent us on a loving high.
The waves washed the beach like rovers on the run,
We walked hand-in-hand until the day was done
Your hands were so strong yet gentle, my dear.
I remember how they held me so close and so near.
The last time I saw you, with a tear in my eye,
I hear you say, “My darling, goodbye.”
They’ve folded the flag and handed it to me,
My love forever, you will always be.
