Twas the Night
Twas the night before Christmas
and I lay in my bed
images of you run though my head
I'm quietly wishing you'd randomly call
Meaning would be big for a gesture so small
Its the holiday season, a time to spread joy
but I can't seem to stay happy without this one boy
Who is thousands of miles away right now
I want to be with him, but the distance won't allow
So I lay here silently thinking of him
watching the light outside become so dim
knowing that Christmas is few hours away
but that's not the countdown I'm doing today
I'm waiting for him to come back home
so then maybe, I won't feel so alone.
because without him, I sleep my days away
Every color I see are shades of gray
So twas the night before Christmas
and no excitement runs here
I'm only counting the days til my love reappears
