When her mother is watching.
Wipes off the lipstick
Inside her sleeve.
Lowers the neckline
When she leaves.
This is the double life
Of a teen.
A knock off Barbie doll
Sashaying back and forth.
Heels four inches tall
Click up and down the halls.
Bruises bloom on passing victims
As they’re shoved to locker doors.
Make way for the princess
Of the second story floor.
