Nothing Else to Say
The wind is rushing by,
And I can’t control the rain.
The silence fades out,
And there is nothing left to say.
The background to our empty conversation becomes
Grey.
And there is nothing left to say.
But are you there?
Do you care?
Are you scared?
Of loving me today?
Memories slide by
My darkened eyes,
My tears form a puddle
They tell me not to be subtle.
I am direct, and in your face,
All because you slipped into the stereotypical
Space.
And there is nothing left to say,
But are you there?
Do you care?
Slip out the back door,
Because you love me no more,
I have so much more to give,
The pavement is just beginning to become slick,
I will be gone before
The footprints are marked in the lawn.
Don’t tell me where to go,
Because you used to love me,
And you gave me a sense of your spirit.
Along with a sense of reality
Turned into stringed hearts.
And you cut mine with your
Daring dart.
The wind is rushing by,
And I can’t control the rain.
I am gone.
Today.
