Flicker
if I blink too fast
the world flickers, to stillness
a quiet complete and unnatural.
and the sunlight bends
into dust-like rainbows
that spiral across your immobile face
like gold cresents, pinwheeling gently.
and in that second's breadth
seen only by me,
you appear as an immortal.
for beauty shows the most
within a blink's lifespan.
