True Torture

He is shunned, under a ban,
And his heart is being eaten.
For this is the tortured man,
But not tortured by being beaten.
Instead the tortured man is hated,
For that’s the worst pain.
Ugly faces painted,
Making them seem insane.
No love is there,
Among those who grunt and groan.
It is angering and unfair,
For the true torture is being alone.
