Into the Woods
Strange how my heart beats
To find its path among the wood
Captured of its own feats
Now rests in cage and gilded door
Whispering winds, swaying, singing
Leading the faint of heart astray
Dying to live yet another day
Darkening shadows, speaking, sighing
Laughing, precociously shaking hands with fate
Mischief courage shall not abate
For the fool who dares to venture
Into the wood.
