Tide Down
waves come crashing in,
washing away our used-to-be footsteps
our bare feet kicking up new memories,
as seagulls soar,
through watched clouds,
and ripped jeans,
wear themselves out,
on stained glass,
cut glass,
and sand blasts.
stinging bees of patched-up knees
remind us to play
while we pray
for summers return.
