"There will always be someone who is smarter than you. Skinnier than you. Stronger than you. More popular than you. There will always be someone better than you, but there will never be someone who is YOU."

Nobody is talking,
the deafening silence is mocking.

Why doesn't anybody care?
I just close my eyes for one more prayer.

They’re hateful of me.
They laugh and they scream,
I wish I could just wake up and everything would be a dream.

Finally I confront them, my heart racing wild
I run up to them, shaking like a young child.

“Look,” I scream right in their faces
my whole body is trembling, my foot, right to the laces.

“If you can’t accept who I am then I have nothing else to say,
you can’t change who I am, I’m sorry that I’m gay.”

Nobody said anything for a long time,
but that didn't stop me from shouting, “this is not a victim less crime!”

Finally, it became obvious that they had nothing more to say
So they just left me here all alone to rot and decay.

I’m sorry that I’m not good enough for you, and I don’t meet your expectations,
but I hope one day that you will understand all of my frustrations.

The author's comments:
Everyday people are judged and put down for being gay. This disgusting act has caused me to rise above it and say something. In this chilling poem, I have released my feelings and frustrations on the "same love" controversy and drama.
