It’s late at night
The lights are off
In the house
No one is awake
The house is quiet
No movements
It’s late at night
So late that not even
The crickets make noise
The only noise is
My pen sketching the paper and
Writing these words
It’s so late that
The sun is
Beginning to rise again
It’s so early that
Birds are sitting in
Their nests, hoping that
The sun will go back down
