Coming Home (elegy)
time has stopped since you've gone
all the birds have lost their songs
the day is bleak and dark and sad
at each remembrance of what we had
every night you whisper to me
calling out ''help me, please!''
i still see your beautiful eyes
in the darkness of the skies
one day you play and laugh and sing
the next darkness comes on a silent wing
it seems Death has had its way
now you're in its grasp to stay
your cries grow weaker each night
and a worry at my plight
but soon you shall not be alone
for i am coming home
