Before You Left Me in Scars
This heart I once owned
Used to be a sweet puddle of blood
 That would ache and beat
Before you left me in the mud.

 These hollow eyes I have
 Used to sparkle with delight
That would shine on the room
 Before you left me blind.

 And my laugh was contagious
Before you cut out my tongue,
Before I learned that if I breathe you in,
Your air would suffocate my lungs.
