Her Downward Ascent

they sat
they laughed
and played--

she climbed
on up
the ladder

leaving
without
a wave.

alone
she sat
and cried,

she cried
and died
within--

we walked
and talked
and met,

revived
a little
inside,

we sat
we talked
we laughed.

with oh
so many
regrets

we watched
her downward
ascent.

The author's comments:
this poem has everything that i felt, and i love it because of it. then i hate it because i makes me sad all over again.

it's told from both my point of view and from my best friend's point of view about me.

i feel like this says all that i could ever say about the three worst experiences of my life, and more. whenever i read over it, i try to add something at the end, to make the reader happy; but it never works. it's asif this poem was born sad.
