I am from the music
from my headphones on the bus and the stereo
I am from dancing after school everyday
I am from my first trip outside the U.S in 7th grade
and coming to class late, struggling to remember my combination
I am from contacts and Simply lemonade at lunch
from teachers to teachers
I’m from striving to get A's
and the can you keep a secret?
I’m from saying what? And can you repeat that?
from love everyone and treat others the way you want to be treated
I’m from the crazy social constructs in society
from the countless number of jazz and ballet shoes gone through this year
I’m from Mr. Buck to Mrs. Hipple
from laughing at that one kid in class that makes everything a joke
I’m from laughing all the time
from trying to be positive
I am from the all the amazing memories in my school
I’m from making
