Why I Cannot Get Out of Bed

I wake up again
Like I have in the darkest hours of night
Hoping this is all a nightmare
But I know it is not
When I look down at my flat stomach
And see no mountain
And feel no earthquake
I cannot face the newly painted walls
Or the little crib in the corner
I cannot face the day without feeling sickness--
The wrong kind if sickness
I cannot get out of bed
