“The music is not in the notes,
but in the silence between.”
― Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

The future is too amorphous

and the past is too abstruse

an attempt to describe either polarity

would have to be deemed obtuse

So to extrapolate the present greed

humanity's aims run loose

for self containment by self appeal

with no objection to the use

of a weapon so demeaning yet

so familiar in the news

appalling yet accepted is the now

humane need to resort to the noose

and the quandery we find ourselves in

is still not as buried as the truth

For even hope is squeezed out

before the development of our youth

and inhumane are the humane

bewilderingly accepted tools to soothe

and while we try to stop humanity's blunder

our meretricious aims keep on the move
