Words slide into a crevice,
In the darkness where the pages meet.
Follow them down.
There is magic within.

In the darkness where the pages meet,
It is a darkness that holds something.
There is magic within;
Paper and words dust and a cool darkness.

It is a darkness that holds something.
Magic.
Paper and words and dust and a cool darkness;
Within a book’s soul.

Magic.
Two hearts beat in the vicinity.
Within a book’s soul.
The heart of the reader beats in time with the heart of the book.

Two hearts beat in the vicinity.
The hearts share a story in the darkness.
The heart of a human beats in time with the heart of the book.
A string of words connect the two.

The hearts share a story in the darkness.
The darkness falls between consecutive pages.
A string of words connect the two.
A string of words holds the world together.

The darkness falls between two consecutive pages.
Between the pages lies a world.
A string of words holds the world together.
Both inside the book, and out.

Between the pages lies a world.
A world not so different from our own.
Both inside the book, and out.
Everything is changing but the words remain the same.

A world not so different from our own.
In a world that is comforting in its warm darkness,
Everything is changing but the words remain the same.
The words are always the same.

In a world that is comforting in its warm darkness,
We can escape the harsh light of our reality.
The words are always the same.
No matter the world, the words are there.

We can escape the harsh light of our reality
Within a book’s soul.
No matter the world, the words are there
They are there to guide us home.

Within a book’s soul,
Lessons are learned.
They are there to guide us home.
When we emerge from within a book’s soul,
The magic remains within us.
