Where's Perfect?
Stuck in this imperfect world, lies upon lies
Trying to find some truth where it hides
Looking endlessly for the words unspoken
The spell of perfection has apparently been broken.
Just trying to be all that I can be
Is really hard when all I see
Is plastic people with their noses held high,
Waiting to scowl and put down the next guy.
People too worried about themselves to care
About a mother’s child, standing there.
And people too involved in life’s daily stress
To care about someone who has way less.
I stand there and watch all the people pass by
Watching their movements, hearing their lies
Never stopping to realize how hard life is for me
Too caught up in their lies and deception to see
I’m trying to learn from life’s many mistakes
I’m trying to give, when people only want to take.
Few people walk differently, not caring what they say,
Just trying to make it into another day
Watching the innocent, just trying to survive
Trying to prolong the benefit of life.
You have to decide which path to choose
Which life to live, weighing what you’ll loose
And too often people choose to pay the price,
Of walking in wrong, instead of what’s right.
