When Do We Tell Our Children There Is War
When bombs and preachers fall from the sky to cover the land it is a dark, cold layer of ash.
Do they see the conquest of brothers and sisters is only conquest of growth and peace.
We are a human race discussed under breath behind thick metal doors.
Tell me how to see the difference between a bullet and bulls***.
Our future is being done away with, thrown over the shoulder of men with no care for any future.
Children raised in a world where “the bad guys” are born from fact and apprehension.
There is less and less dignity in the phrase “I am human”.
Is there any compassion left in the men wielding weapons, in the men wielding nations.
War is where we find ourselves today, caught between the present and any hope for a future.
