Inside and out we are graceful voices

while the sweetest liars are reticent

and we rise against a turbulant tide

in which our dreams remain persistent

We are a strong force of good nature

and the branching of incessant free will

but though we have been broken and beaten

our hands are joined together still

We rise like the oceans in a storm!

We protest against our rights and liberties!

Our hearts and souls are stronger than any man's

because we have loved in the deepest misery

Not all of us found contentness in dependence

nor the warmth in becoming provided for

not all of us are bound by the strength of another

because we demanded equality decades before

We continue to mold our place in the world

with each breath taken and life changed

we are the women that thrived in broken times

and the voices that will forever remain
