Forgetting Love
Love is a basic element of the heart,
Easily used yet misused.
The wonders and desires you face
Are with you, infused.
The early days of your life
Held a meaning to live by.
Your parents were there for you
Until the days you cut ties.
But they loved you for who you were
And forgave you when you came back.
They loved you as time passed on,
And you regret because Time was what you lacked.
The time you were alone
You had a friend beside you.
But you left them for yourself,
A lie you never made true.
The secrets shared with each other
And the times that were fun,
Was because you loved them
Then told them you weren’t going to run.
To the point where you found someone
And made vows to love forever.
He disappeared without a trace
Breaking your heart and to love again? Never.
But he came back and asked for forgiveness
And you realized how sincere,
You knew you never stopped loving him
And what matters now is that he’s here.
Love comes in all different shapes and forms,
But the thing you can never change
Is how they loved you from the start.
Love cannot be measured by a specified range
Only by the heart.
