"Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one."

Walking down the empty halls
I feel a tap on my shoulder
I hear distant laughter
I turn to see
That no one was behind me

Down the stairs I walk
I feel a tap on my shoulder
I hear distant laughter
I could have sworn someone walked past me
But no one was there
I was just imagining

Out of the solemn building I walk
Into the light of day
I look up at the clouds
And then at the field ahead

Many people I do see
But the field remains empty

And just then,
I feel a tap on my shoulder
And again, I hear the laughter
But I turn to see
That no one was behind me

Nice Job! I like the rhyme structure! A tip if I may, you seem to use "But" a few times. In my experience, I use different words so the reader doesn't seem to get bored. I hope this helps!

Haunted Halls I see. I mostly imagine this being taken place in London. But good rhyme structure.
