are you right?
you are the lightning
keeping me awake at night.
you heat me to a burst star’s white.
are you frightening?
keeping me awake at night?
say i fight
your truths tightening,
are you right?
you rain onto all i write
as though you’ll lead me to an enlightening
keeping me awake at night
say i smite
the light of your certainties from brightening
are you right?
evil said it’s a bomb shelter away from your sight
filled with fireplaces i’ll find inviting.
you are the lightning
that strikes every night.
