Gone Too Soon
The wrinkles on the sheets where you lay
Have began to flatten out.
And I am left cold and alone;
Left to drown in doubt.
A new day unfolds around me
As I hold my pillow tight.
In this emptiness, so alone,
I can't stand another night.
If someone would carry you back to me,
Maybe I would rest.
But knowing that you won't come back,
Puts my faith to the test.
I've always loved the darkest nights,
When I can see the moon.
But just like the end of the misty twilight,
You were gone too soon.
